Mens Health
We here at B.ARS Supplements advocate Mens Health and Self Care. Life is busy and in an increasing digitally connected world, it is a difficult thing to find clear space to stop, breathe and relax. From a personal point of view, I found it difficult to find my tipping point. I realised too late and before I knew it, my life had turned upside down. Working 80 hour weeks to get by, I lost a sense of who I was and my purpose.
Many people don't ask for help when things don't go well. Many people don't know how to ask for help let alone knowing that they need help. Mental health is a 'Real' thing. on in eight men will suffer depression in their lives at some point. Depression is not just about feeling sad or anxious. It can be about feeling lost and not being in control. It could be a feeling of being restless. Being vulnerable is a foreign concept for men. We keep things to ourselves and we don't like to talk about things. It's a crazy statistic, but approximately 6 men die in Australia each day and another 82 men call an ambulance because they have suicidal thoughts. There are many more statistics like this and it should not be the case. The message is clear. This needs to change.
From a reference point of view, this was my life. I was a father and a husband and I built my career on being resilient and driven to find a better career that would enable me to be more at home with my family. In doing so, I was going the opposite way. The reason why I working so hard ended up being the reason why my marriage ended and I had to rebuild my life. I just thought this was the way life was meant to be.
This is why this movement has started at B.ARS Supplement. The message is to just make a start. Go for a walk. Enjoy breathing in some fresh air.
Self care is not about a thing or even a state of mind. It is being wholistic in life and making sure that we all do something that takes us away from the reality of the normal 9-5 world that people live. The new digital world in which we live means that people are always connected to something and someone. We all need to have a balance in our lives. What that is for people is individual to the person. The important thing is that we find a way to stop and take stock of what is important for us as individuals.
We advocate organisations like Beyond Blue as they do some excellent work to get this message across.
It is hoped that as a Brand and as a Movement, we make it easier for men to start their health journey. We also want to keep things simple and provide good quality products at a good competitive price. We want to get people to understand and listen to their bodies.
